Many LFU major events have taken place in early June 2010. Below are some of the most important. Many more are under preparation.
The President of the University of Amiens visits Erbil
The main goals of the visit were the development of the presence of French higher education and research in Iraqi Kurdistan, and the extension of the partnership relationship between UPJV Amiens and LFU BMU.
New programs in LFU
New bachelor and Master’s programs in partnership with Amiens covering: management, information systems IT, oil & gas, hotels & tourism management, marketing-advertising, banking & finance, hospitals management, and education.
These programs are in addition to the MBA program offered since 2007 and to programs in law and public administration leading to a Master’s from the universities of Nimes and Aix-Marseille 3
Scientific research and doctoral program
UPJV and LFU are setting up an applied research and doctoral education center. Research topics will focus on issues of importance to public and private organizations in Kurdistan and Iraq in general.
Ground-breaking ceremony for the LFU new campus
Situated in the city of Erbil on a 50,000 square meter land, the new campus will start its activities in the fall of 2010. Ground-breaking took place in presence of the Governor of the Province of Erbil, of the General Consul of France and of the President of UPJV Amiens.
Master’s graduation ceremony
The 104 first graduates of the UPJV-LFU Business Administration program received their French state Master’s degree in presence of the Kurdistan Planning Minister, the General Consul of France and the President of UPJV Amiens, during a dinner attended by many representatives from the business, politics and education circles.
